Rules for the Hike to Fuego Volcano

1. Guide Approval and Instructions Participation in this hike is subject to the guides' approval. Once approved, you must follow their instructions carefully throughout the hike.
2. Mandatory Guide Requirement This hike cannot be done without a guide. Please do not insist on undertaking it independently.
3. Liability Waiver Before starting the hike, all participants are required to sign the liability form.
4. Weather-Dependent Hike The feasibility of the hike depends on weather conditions. Guides will assess the situation and have the final say on whether the hike proceeds.
5. Acatenango and Fuego Hike Fees
   • The hike to the Acatenango summit is included in the overall price.
   • The Fuego Volcano hike carries an additional cost, whether it is done the night before or in the morning.
6. No Refunds After the Hike Starts Once the hike begins, the full fee applies, regardless of whether you complete the hike or not.
7. Visibility Conditions The hike fee remains the same, even if visibility is limited or poor due to weather.
8. Snacks Requirement Participants must bring an extra snack of at least 500 calories, as no additional food is provided during the hike.
9. Group Pace and Support The hiking pace will depend on the abilities of the group. Whether you are fast or slow, there will always be a guide nearby to ensure no one is left behind.
10. Health Considerations If you have asthma, a heart condition, or any other significant medical issue, we strongly discourage you from participating in this hike.
