Details

• Discover the most impressive Acatenango and Fuego volcanoes in Guatemala over the course of 1.5 days.
• The adventure begins with pick-up at our meeting point between 8:30 and 9:00 am, where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast.
• Next, we travel to our first base camp located in the village of La Soledad, about an hour from Antigua, Guatemala. We will arrive around 10:00 am. At the camp, you will be provided with meals, gloves, flashlights, jackets, wooden hiking sticks, a briefing session, and you will meet the guides who will accompany you throughout the hike.
• After the briefing and sharing group information with your guide, we’ll transfer you to the volcano entrance to begin the hike, at approximately 11:00 am.
• We’ll stop around 1:30 pm for lunch (you can request breaks from your guide throughout the hike).
• You will continue the hike until reaching Camp 2, arriving around 3:00 or 4:00 pm, depending on your pace and that of the group. Here, you’ll settle into the cabins.
• You’ll witness the sunset and the eruptions of the nearby Fuego volcano, which is located directly in front of our camp.
• Later, enjoy a warm bonfire, a delicious dinner, and hot chocolate.
• Day two begins at 4:30 am with an ascent to the summit of the volcano to watch the sunrise from the top.
• Afterward, we’ll return to camp where the guide will prepare breakfast, between 6:00 and 7:00 am.
• Around 8:00 am, we’ll begin the descent to the starting point of the hike.
• A bus will then take you back to Camp 1, where you can rest.
• Finally, around 1:00 pm, we’ll take the bus back to Antigua, Guatemala.

Cancellations and Other Considerations:

• Cancellation Policy: Clients must notify us at least 24 hours in advance of the tour date for any cancellations.
• We allow ourselves cancellations if minumun number of participants (3 passenger) is not achieved. In this case we provide refund for payments already received in our platform.
• Weather Conditions: Please note that Camp AKT is not responsible for weather conditions. Views of the volcano may be obscured by fog or rain.
• Hike Completion:
  • Camp AKT does not offer refunds if a guest chooses not to complete the ascent of the hike.
  • Guests who do not complete the hike may return to the camp for an additional charge of Q.30.00 per person.
• Food Menu: The food menu is subject to change.
• Safety Regulations: Leaving the group or failing to follow the guide's instructions is strictly prohibited and will result in a penalty of $300.00 per person.
• Fuego Volcano Hike: Please note that there are no refunds or cancellations for the optional Fuego Volcano Hike.
